So when planning a wedding shower, this classic favorite could be the ultimate concoction to warm up a group before it's time to open presents. Start with an easy recipe for tomato soup, then get creative by offering a gourmet-style grilled cheese.

Gourmet Grilled Cheese
The key to a good grilled cheese, according to FifteenSpatulas, is to put healthy things on it! We were inspired by her thinking, so here is one of our favorite grilled cheese recipes, equipped with gruyere cheese, avocado and heirloom tomatoes. Serves 6-8 people. Double the recipe as needed.Ingredients:
Directions: Heat up nonstick skillet over medium heat. Take slices of bread, butter both sides. Toast directly on the skillet until golden brown. Add cheese, tomato and avocado and season with salt and pepper. Sandwich one more layer of cheese under the second piece of bread. Add butter to the skillet and brown both sides of the sandwich until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown. Cut into quarters and serve on a large platter so guests can grab a few and delightfully dip the sandwiches into the tomato soup. YUM.
