Starting, Scaling, & Showing Up with Jackie Hutson
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in business, entrepreneurship, and life is that growth is never linear. It comes with big leaps, unexpected turns, and those quiet moments of doubt where you ask yourself—Can I really do this? But what separates the ones who succeed isn’t just talent or luck—it’s the ability to trust yourself, take action, and surround yourself with the right people who push you to go further.
That’s why I’m so excited to bring Jackie Hutson onto Unapologetically Yours. Jackie is a powerhouse entrepreneur, a mother, a managing partner of Atrium, and the founder of Piper & Mint, a product-based startup solving a problem that so many women experience but no one talks about—night sweats.
Jackie and I go way back—we met when we were 14 years old, cheered each other on from a distance, and then reconnected during the pandemic when we were both navigating entrepreneurship, motherhood, and personal growth. In this conversation, we talk about everything from scaling a multimillion-dollar company to the mental shifts required to launch a startup to balancing ambition with rest, structure with flow, and success with self-care.
If you’ve ever struggled with wearing too many hats, figuring out when to take the next leap, or simply learning to trust yourself, this episode is for you.
In this episode, you’ll hear about:
How Jackie scaled Atrium from $4M to $30M and what she learned along the way.
The leap from corporate leadership to launching a startup—and why she finally said yes to herself.
Balancing masculine and feminine energy in business and leadership.
How to set boundaries, delegate, and protect your time as a high-performing entrepreneur.
The reality of starting a product-based business from scratch—and what it takes to bring an idea to life.
The importance of community, mentorship, and surrounding yourself with the right people.
…and so much more!
“Growth takes time. It’s not gonna be overnight. But as long as I know we’re progressing, I’m moving in the right direction.”
My Key Takeaways From Jackie:
Trust Your Gut in Business. Jackie has always had strong instincts, but learning to trust them fully—and take action on them—was a game-changer in her journey. She reminds us that success often comes down to listening to our intuition and betting on ourselves.
Boundaries Create Freedom. As a high-achieving entrepreneur, Jackie realized that saying no is just as important as saying yes. Setting clear boundaries with her time, energy, and commitments has allowed her to grow her businesses while still prioritizing what matters most.
Growth Takes Time. Whether scaling Atrium to $30M or launching Piper and Mint from the ground up, Jackie knows that sustainable growth doesn’t happen overnight. She encourages entrepreneurs to celebrate progress instead of constantly chasing the next milestone.
Masculine and Feminine Energy Work Together. Jackie’s leadership style blends strategy and structure with creativity and intuition. She shares how integrating both masculine and feminine energy has helped her lead with confidence while staying true to herself.
Surround Yourself with the Right People. From mentors to business partners to a trusted inner circle, Jackie emphasizes that success is never a solo journey. She credits her ability to scale, pivot, and stay grounded to the support of the people around her.
Give Yourself Permission to Start. Jackie sat on the idea for Piper and Mint for nearly a decade before finally taking action. She reminds us that there’s never a perfect time to start—what matters is giving yourself permission to take the first step.
“If it’s not a hell yeah, it’s like a f* no. If it’s a should, shut it. If it’s a want, that’s a different story.”
Jackie’s journey is a testament to what’s possible when you trust yourself, take bold leaps, and surround yourself with the right people. Whether you’re scaling a company, launching a product, or simply trying to find more balance in your life, her insights remind us that success isn’t just about growth—it’s about alignment, intention, and staying true to your vision.
This conversation left me feeling inspired to embrace both structure and flow, set firmer boundaries, and celebrate the progress—no matter how small. I hope it does the same for you.
